| This half-hour Caucus
Up Close special will take an inside look at the profession
of carpentry. The program titled "Inside Carpentry,"
features a diverse panel of four guests from a variety of
carpentry specialties. The panelists discuss the highly technological
nature of carpentry today, the misconceptions about carpentry
attracting only the uneducated, the variety of areas of expertise,
and the promising future that the field offers. This program
also focuses on educating the public about how carpenters
are making a difference in their communities every day and
the unique opportunities awaiting young people interested
in a career in the carpentry industry. We discuss how apprentice
programs offer college credit and examine various career paths
stemming from completion of the program. Overall, the program
dispels stereotypical myths about construction workers and
reveals an exciting high tech, challenging, and exciting career
path.

segment produced by Joanna Caplan, which demonstrates the
promising future that carpentry offers and dispels the misconceptions
about carpentry attracting only the uneducated. We get an
inside look at union carpentry when we bring our cameras
onsite at The Prudential Center in Newark to talk with John
Robbins, Eddie Enderle and journeyman Sabino Galioto. |
