Tape Piece: - The two-part special begins with a mini-documentary produced by Joanna Caplan. This segment features researcher Dr. James Goydos and Dr. Susan Goodin at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey who have found a revolutionary approach to treat the deadly cancer Melanoma using a drug currently approved to treat symptoms of ALS. As this drug nears the final approval phase, it promises new hope for patients and their families who have been affected by this terrible disease. We will go into the lab, talk with the researcher and doctor conducting the clinical trial about this exciting new research, the hurdles they face and what it could mean to patients.
