| On this installment,
we look at the medical and surgical treatments for eye disorders
including cataracts, glaucoma and LASIK surgery. Additional
topics for discussion include eye health and injury prevention.
We also examine what the future holds for patients with
macular degeneration and the new drugs that are giving hope
to those stricken with the disease. The panel is comprised
of ophthalmologists specializing in cataract surgery, LASIK,
and corneal surgery, as well as a patient who has successful
undergone procedures to correct vision problems, and the
Executive Director for the NJ State Commission for the Blind
and Visually Impaired who is blind and can speak first hand
to the resources available to assist the blind and visually
impaired.
