Description

Children with physical disabilities and special needs face a host of challenges, from negotiating the most fundamental activities to overcoming language and hearing problems, to recovering from sports injuries. Pediatric rehabilitation can be a complex process that must be adapted to fit the unique needs of a wide range of children and family situations. This program examines the crucial importance of family involvement and support throughout the recovery process. Additionally, the panel considers the multifaceted needs of children with autism, as well as the broader spectrum of children with developmental disabilities.

Levine, this program begins with a brief documentary segment that will follow the story of a child and their family, who is benefiting from Children’s Specialized Hospital’s services. We examine the importance family members as partners and decision-makers in their child's care. We'll talk with the Panarese family who has been be benefiting from Children's Specialized Hospital services. We feature second grader Christian who is living with Cerebral Palsy We'll also talk Children's Specialized Hospital president Amy Mansue.
