| Families
in Focus is a special Caucus series looking at the many challenges and pressures facing the modern American family.
This installment entitled "Early Learning and Family Life,"
delves into the effects of the Abbott ruling on urban families and looks
at how families in Abbott districts are benefiting from publicly financed
preschool programs. Studies show that a preschool education is an
important determinant in future academic and social success, we will
analyze whether the programs fulfill the most fundamental Abbott mandate--
a quality education commensurate with more affluent districts. We'll
also identify what still needs to be done to provide New Jersey's children
with quality early learning.
