| Every year, countless
New Jerseyans devote themselves to tutoring, hospital work,
mentoring, and many other forms of volunteerism and community
service. Who are these unsung heroes and what motivates
them? What do they get out of their service? How can others
be encouraged to volunteer? In an effort to bring attention
to the work of individuals throughout our region who are
making a true impact on the lives of others, this program
will celebrate the important work of the unsung heroes who
volunteer and make a difference every day. This half-hour
program will feature four individuals representing grassroots
organizing groups, faith-based initiatives, volunteer centers,
and medical professionals that donate services to individuals
in need throughout the world. These individuals will be
given the opportunity to talk with one another about how
they became involved in volunteering, and the many rewards
it brings. This program is a “call to action”
to inspire others to donate their time and efforts to others
less fortunate.
Tape Piece - Produced by Joanna Caplan,
this program begins with a mini-documentary featuring the
